Detergent maker Deka was set up in 1992 as a part of local AM Group. In 1996, the firm installed its first detergent packaging production line. Deka offers powder, gel and liquid detergents under the Deka, Elan, Dix, Sprink and Prim Soft brands.
In May 2004, Deka was certified with Quality Management Certificate ISO 9001:2000. In July the company started the construction of a new production unit in Albania. The EUR 15 million project was expected to double the company’s production.
Deka cooperates with companies from Bulgaria, Turkey, Kosovo, Germany, Greece and Italy and exports part of its production to Kosovo and Macedonia. It operates a representative office in Prishtina, Kosovo.
The company is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Tirana and the American Chamber of Commerce in Albania.
Deka holds some 50% of the local detergents market with a production capacity of over 10,000 tons per year.
