Raiffeisen Bank – Albania Sh.a. is the legal successor of the local Banka e Kursimeve Sh.a. (Savings Bank of Albania), which was incorporated in 1991. The local Ministry of Finance was the sole owner of Savings Bank of Albania until April 14, 2004, when it sold its full stake to Austria-based Raiffeisen Zentralbank Osterreich Aktiengesellshafft (RZB AG). A few months later, RZB AG transferred its 100% share in the Albanian bank to its fully-owned Vienna-based subsidiary Raiffeisen International AG. On October 1, 2004 Savings Bank of Albania Sh.a. was renamed to Raiffeisen Bank – Albania Sh.a. The bank offers a wide range of services and products, including retail, private, corporate and investment banking, as well as asset management and specialized financial operations. Raiffeisen Bank – Albania Sh.a. owns 75% in local Raiffesen Leasing Sh.a., which was established in April 2006. In January 2009, the Albanian lender acquired 100% of the Instituti Amerikan i Pensioneve Private Suplementare te Shqiperise Sh.a. (American Pension Fund of Albania). Currently, the subsidiary is known as Shoqeria Administruese e Fondeve te Pensionit Raiffeisen Sh.a. (Raiffeisen Pension Funds Management Company). Raiffeisen Bank – Albania Sh.a. operates a branch network of over 80 outlets nationwide.
