Axion Energy Argentina S.A. is a major downstream oil and gas company headquartered in Buenos Aires, dedicated to the refining, distribution, and commercialization of fuels, lubricants, petrochemical products, and LPG. The company operates the Campana refinery—one of Argentina’s most modern facilities—located 70 km northwest of the capital. Axion Energy emerged after Bridas Corporation, through Pan American Energy (PAE), acquired ExxonMobil’s Esso downstream assets in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay in 2012, rebranding the former Esso Petrolera Argentina into Axion. Today, Axion Energy forms part of Pan American Energy Group, a 50/50 joint venture between Bridas and BP, and operates a nationwide retail network of AXION energy service stations alongside industrial supply lines, a robust lubricants portfolio under Castrol, and corporate fleet‑management solutions such as AXION Smart.
