Bulgaria's electric fitting maker Naiden Kirov, former Elprom Naiden Kirov, was established in 1901.
The company produces electrical switches, switchboards, plugs, sockets and fork-joints.
In November 1996, Bulgaria's Privatisation Agency sold 76% of Elprom Naiden Kirov for USD 604,000 to Panama-registered Costra Development Ins, which it said was linked to Israel's electrotechnical equipment company Electro Netech.
The buyer also pledged to settle some USD 630,000 of the company's debts and to invest at least USD 490,000 in the next five years.
A total of 20% of the company's capital was offered to its staff at preferential prices and the remaining 4.0% was used to cover restitution claims by former owners.
