CEG Rio aims to operate the gas services outside the metropolitan area of Rio de Janeiro, and to explore exclusively the distribution of piped gas, and all resulting subgroups, for thirty years, contracted from 21 July 1997. The concession area includes the regions of Rio Norte-Fluminense, Noroeste-Fluminense, Baixada Litoranea, Serrana, Medio Paraiba, Centro-Sul and Baia da Ilha Grande, all in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
