Hospital Clinico Herminda Martin was built between 1941 and 1945 with funds donated by Doña Herminda Martín Mieres. Dr. Carlos Morales San Martín was its first director. In April 2010 a winter module of 300 square meters and 32 beds was reconstructed and built. This new building houses the hospitalization rooms of the intensive care units (ICU-TIM), as well as the pediatric service, pediatric surgery and intensive care units for the hospital's youngest patients.
