Niu Technologies (中国)

The Company is principally engaged in designing, manufacturing and selling of electric scooters and its accessories under the brand name of “NIU”.
The Company currently designs, manufactures and sells high-performance motorcycles, scooters, kick-scooters and e-bikes. The Company has a diversified product portfolio that caters to the various demands of its users and addresses different urban travel scenarios. Currently, the Company offers eight product series across a number of different vehicle types. Its products portfolio comprises its (i) six electric scooter and motorcycle series, RQi, NQi, MQi, SQi, UQi, and Gova, (ii) one kick-scooter series, KQi, (iii) one e-bike series, BQi. The Company has adopted an omnichannel retail model, integrating the offline and online channels, to sell its products and provide services.
The Company provides connectivity solutions and value-added services to its users. The Company s NIU app synchronizes with the smart e-scooters and communicates with its cloud system. Through the app, its users receive real-time information relating to their smart e-scooters. The Company uses the data collected to provide smart maintenance and services, and guide the users on when and how to properly maintain its products to extend their service life and achieve better performance. The Company also analyzes this data to help it improve its products and create new services. In addition, the Company collects and analyze user behavioral data from our NIU app and its website, from which the Company derives insights to further engage its customers and strengthen brand loyalty.
The Company sold 831,593 units, including its e-motorcycles, e-scooters, kick-scooters and e-bikes, in 2022. The number of units sold in China market and international markets were 710,540 and 121,053, respectively. The Company sell and service its products through a unique “city partner” system in China, which consisted of 338 city partners with 3,102 franchised stores in 239 cities in China, and 53 distributors in 52 countries overseas as of December 31, 2022, as well as on its own online store and third-party e-commerce platforms.
All products and services are viewed as in one and the only operating segment.
HISTORY
2014 The Company commenced operations in September 2014 through Beijing Niudian Technology Co., Ltd., or Beijing Niudian.
In November 2014, the Company was incorporated in the Cayman Islands as its offshore holding company to facilitate financing and offshore listing. Shortly following its incorporation, the Company established a wholly-owned subsidiary in Hong Kong, Niu Technologies Group Limited.
2015 Niu Technologies Group Limited established a wholly-owned subsidiary in China, Beijing Niudian Information Technology Co., Ltd., or Niudian Information in May 2015.
The Company launched its N-Series smart e-scooters in June 2015.
2018 The ADSs representing The Company s Class A ordinary shares commenced trading on Nasdaq under the symbol “NIU” on October 19, 2018.
