In 1949 the Johnson & Johnson Corporation granted a concession to Laboratorios Cofarma of the City of Barranquilla to manufacture locally Johnson's talc and oil. In 1957, Johnson opened two companies in the country South American Teams and Johnson Interamericana where the national production was imported, marketed and supervised. In 1962, Johnson & Johnson was legally incorporated with base in Barranquilla and in 1968 moved its offices to Cali and started its own manufacturing process in the San Nicolas neighborhood. In 1977, the company opened the headquarters of Johnson & Johnson in Yumbo, three kilometers from Cali. Its manufacturing plant is located there, which is responsible for the manufacture of soaps and detergents, prepared for cleaning and polishing.
