BATCCA was founded in 1912 under the name of Republic Tobacco Company and in 2000 the company was acquired by British American Tobacco. Later it was part of a regional expansion plan to create British American Tobacco Central America made up of all regional tobacco companies and in 2003 BATCA and BAT Caribbean were integrated to establish British American Tobacco Caribbean & Central America. It is a company dedicated to the production and processing of tobacco products.
