Norma's main business is the production and sale of car safety systems and components, as well as related development activities. The company's main production technologies include metal processing, plastic injection moulding, and electroplating. Norma has one subsidiary - Norma-Osvar ZAO, Russia, which produces and sells safety belts to Russian car manufacturers (OEM's). Norma's history goes back over 100 years. In 1891, Paulus Michelson established a sheet metal workshop, which was given the name Norma in 1931. The production of car safety belts began in 1973, which is Norma's core business activity today. Norma's shares have been listed on the Tallinn Stock Exchange since 1996, and since 1999 the company has been part of the Autoliv group, which owns 51% of its stock.
