Egyptian Financial and Industrial Company (EFIC) is a joint stock company, involved in the production and marketing of agricultural chemicals. EFIC history dates back to 1929. In 1961 it was nationalized and remained state-owned until 1996 when a new privatization program stipulated some 65% of the equity to be offered at an initial public offering, and 10% to be sold to the employees. The Company is specialized in manufacturing phosphate fertilizer, sulfuric acid and other by-products through its two main plants in Kafr El-Zayat and Assuit.
