The bank focuses on serving the lower-income sector, which represents 70% of the population not served by traditional banks. Banco Azteca benefits from the experience of Grupo Elektra, which has over 50 years of experience in providing credit to this sector. Banco Azteca is part of Grupo Salinas, one of the largest corporate groups in Mexico. The Financial Division of Grupo Salinas includes Banco Azteca, Seguros Azteca, Afore Azteca, and Círculo de Crédito. The bank has over 1,400 branches, making it the third-largest network in Mexico.
