Paksi Atomerőmű Zrt. (Paks Nuclear Power Plant) is the first operating nuclear power plant in Hungary, it was built from 1969 to 1987 and started operating in 1982. Currently the power plant operates with four active reactors and according to plan two more will upgrade the factory. Paksi Atomerőmű produces the cheapest electrical energy in Hungary and is one of the most important players on the energy market. The company is state-owned and managed through MVM Magyar Villamos Művek Zrt.
