Compagnie Immobilière Limitée (CIL) was incorporated on 06 December 1950 as a public company and was admitted to the Development Enterprise Market of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius in August 2006 in replacement of the Over The Counter Market. The main business of CIL consists of renting of property. Following the enactment of the Landlord and Tenant (Amendment) Act 2005, the company has aligned its rentals with the market rates and to date, there are no outstanding cases for the determination of market rent and all tenants are now either under lease agreement or agreement based on determination or negotiation of the market rent at the Fair Rent Tribunal.
