Bodega Aurrera S. de R.L. de C.V. is a stores chain supermarket. Bodega Aurrera initiated operations in Mexico opening its first store on 1958. In 1970, Suburbia, Bodega Aurrera, Vips and Sam's Club started operations like subsidiaries of Grupo Cifra. On 1997 Wal-Mart Super Center acquires the control of Grupo Cifra, and Bodega Aurrerá becomes subsidiary of Wal-Mart Mexico. On 2001 was the conversion of Aurrera Stores, 24 units became Wal-Mart Supercenters and then became Bodega. Currently it operates 1.204 stores which offer items such as basic consumer goods, clothing lines and food products.
