Grupo Modelo, S.A.B. de C.V., founded in 1925 and headquartered in Mexico City, is Mexico’s largest beer producer and one of the most prominent brewers in Latin America. The company operates in the manufacture, distribution, and marketing of beer, with a portfolio of 17 national brands, including globally recognized names such as Corona Extra, Modelo Especial, Victoria, Pacífico, and Negra Modelo. Grupo Modelo exports several of its brands to over 180 countries, and through its strategic alliance with Nestlé Waters, also distributes bottled water brands like Sta. María and Nestlé Pureza Vital in Mexico. Since 2013, Grupo Modelo has been a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world’s largest brewing company, which acquired full ownership to expand its global footprint. Historically, Grupo Modelo has played a central role in shaping Mexico’s beer industry, holding over 60% of the national market share and pioneering international expansion strategies that positioned Corona Extra as one of the most valuable beer brands worldwide.
