Jimah East Power Sdn. Bhd. (JEP) is a Malaysian power generation company operating a large-scale thermal power station in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, commonly referred to as the Jimah East or Tuanku Muhriz coal-fired power plant. The asset is a high-capacity, utility-scale generation facility comprising two ultra-supercritical coal-fired generating units with a combined installed capacity of approximately 2,000 MW, designed to provide baseload electricity supply to Peninsular Malaysia's national grid. JEP's operational scope encompasses plant operations and maintenance, performance and availability management, fuel and logistics interface management (including marine coal delivery infrastructure where applicable), environmental control systems oversight, and compliance with regulatory and grid operator requirements. The plant's role is positioned around system reliability and supply adequacy, supporting grid stability through consistent dispatchable generation output. As part of the broader Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) group context, JEP's strategic positioning is typically aligned with disciplined asset management, efficiency and heat-rate optimisation, stringent safety and environmental governance, and long-term reliability to meet contracted obligations and national supply needs. While the broader power sector is transitioning toward lower-carbon generation portfolios, dispatchable thermal capacity remains an important component of near- to medium-term grid resilience; within this framework, JEP's strategic focus centres on sustained operational excellence, compliance performance, and cost-effective generation, supported by preventative maintenance regimes and continuous improvement initiatives.
