Watatime started out as a wholesaler of watches, clocks and pens in 1972. In 1984, Watatime (M) Sdn Bhd was incorporated, which primarily involved in importing, wholesaling and retailing of watches, clocks, pens, lighters and calculators. It has since grown to become one of the major players in the luxury timepiece segment in the local market, operating about 17 outlets nationwide located within the most prestigious shopping malls and carrying some of the most renowned brands of watches, with the aim of growing the business internationally, in particular within the Asian region. In 2014, Watatime was 50% acquired by one of the leading Department Chain Stores, Parkson Group and the joint venture enables Watatime to leverage on Parkson's presence to embark on its regional expansion of store network. Moving forward, the strategic business alliance with Parkson will definitely put Watatime on a stronger footing for better growth in years to come.
