The main objective of the company is hydroelectricity generation. Promoters hold majority ownership with 70 shareholding. Remaining 30 shareholding is from general public including 10 equity ownership of project affected local people.
KPCL owns and operates a power plant with 6.4 MW installed capacity which is located in Gorkha District of western Nepal. It sells electricity to NEA at rates agreed upon in the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

History:
2008:The Company was incorporated on 7th March, 2008 as Daraudi Kalika Hydro Private Limited.
2015: The Company converted into public limited company on 18th October 2015 to facilitate public participation and and subsequently changed it s name to KALIKA POWER COMPANY LIMITED.
2018:The Company was listed on Nepal Stock Exchange in 11 October 2018.
