Lukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of New Chemical Syntheses is a Polish applied R&D and technology organization focused on industrial chemistry, chemical engineering and commercialization of process technologies, catalysts, and specialty chemical products. The institutes business segments span research and development in synthesis and process technology for key inorganic and nitrogen-value-chain chemistries, including synthesis gas and hydrogen process areas, ammonia and methanol catalysis, nitric acid and nitrogen compounds, and broader inorganic chemistry and fertilizer-related technologies. A major product and commercialization pillar is catalysts and sorbents manufacturing and development for refinery and synthesis-gas processing (including raw-material desulfurization catalysts and selective sorbents, steam reforming, CO shift conversion, COx methanation, and processing of gasification products), as well as catalysts for ammonia synthesis, benzene hydrogenation, fats hydrogenation, nitrous oxide decomposition, and selective NOx reduction, complemented by ceramic/alumina ball products used in process units. Another segment is fertilizers and fertilizer technologies, including mineral fertilizers and suspension/liquid fertilizer solutions and technology development enabling waste utilization into fertilizer production. The institute also provides industrial services such as technology development and modernization for chemical and adjacent industries (including crystallization, concentration, drying and gas absorption) and comprehensive analytical and physicochemical testing services through specialized laboratories, including accredited testing for fertilizers and related matrices and broader material, raw material and product analysis. Geographic scope is Poland-based with national and international industrial cooperation through the Lukasiewicz network model, supporting industrial partners, public institutions and international R&D collaborations. Strategic focus is positioned around bridging laboratory innovation with industrial scale-up, delivering validated catalysts, process solutions and analytical assurance for large-scale chemical production and environmental performance, with an emphasis on practical deployability, technical rigor and commercialization pathways.
