Open Joint Stock Company POLYEF is Russias only producer of terephthalic acid. Production capacity of the plant is 230,000 tons of terephthalic acid. Production of acid is equipped with a modern management system and emergency protection. On March 21, 2008 in "POLYEF" production line for production of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) was launched. Each of the two production lines for the production of PET produces 60,000 tons of high quality granulated polyethylene per year. Within the frames of the investment program in Russian polyester complex it is planned to increase by mid-2013 production capacity of PET to 200 thousand tons per year. The total investment in the project should make a 1.6 billion rubles.
