Publishing house Sanoma Independent Media (up to 2005 - Independent Media, from 2005 to 2011 - Independent Media Sanoma Magazines) was founded in 1992, when The Moscow Times was first published in English. Today we can safely say that newspapers and magazines IM contributed to the formation of a new journalism and the new Russian society. Publishing house Sanoma Independent Media (SIM) - the largest player in the Russian media market - founded by a group of Dutch investors led by Derk Sauer, in March 1992. To date, the SIM portfolio consists of more than 50 publications and projects with a cumulative readership approaching 12 million people across Russia, and the share of the glossy advertising market is about 25%.
