Nova KBM d.d. began operations in 1862 under the name Mestna hranilnica Maribor. The bank underwent numerous mergers and name changes until emerging as Nova KBM d.d. in 1994.
Nova KBM d.d. has nine subsidiaries and affiliated companies headquartered in Slovenia, one in Austria, two in Croatia and one in Serbia.
The shares of Nova KBM d.d. began trading on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) in 2007.
On May 11, 2011 Nova KBM listed its shares on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, becoming the first Slovenian company traded simultaneously at home and on a foreign stock exchange.
