Stredoslovenska energetika, a.s. (SSE) is a Slovak regional energy company engaged in the sale and distribution of electricity and natural gas, with a history spanning more than 90 years. It is the second-largest electricity distributor in Slovakia through its subsidiary Stredoslovenska distribucna, providing power to approximately 700,000 customers in the Zilina region, Banska Bystrica region and part of the Trencin region, including households and business clients. SSE's business segments encompass retail supply of electricity and gas to households, small enterprises and large industrial customers, as well as a portfolio of related services such as energy advisory, efficiency and safety solutions, customer service and digital self-service tools. The company forms part of a larger energy holding group, with the government of Slovakia holding a majority stake and a significant minority interest owned by a Central European energy industrial holding, linking SSE to a broader network active in power and gas distribution and trading.
