Sangtudinskaya GES-1 OJSC is a hydroelectric power station on the Vakhsh River in Tajikistan. Sangtudinskaya GES-1 is located in Dangara district of Khatlon region of the Republic of Tajikistan, 110 km south of the capital of the republic - Dushanbe. The first hydraulic unit of the hydroelectric power station was put into operation in January 2008. Sangtudinskaya GES-1 installed capacity of 670 MW is the fifth stage of the Vakhsh cascade of hydroelectric power stations and is one of the three largest hydroelectric power stations in Tajikistan along with the Nurek HPP (3000 MW) and the Baypazinskaya HPP (600 MW). The enterprise provides about 15% of the total power generation in the Republic of Tajikistan.
