Kiyi Emniyeti Genel Mudurlugu (Turkiye)

Kiyi Emniyeti Genel Mudurlugu is a government organization under the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. It operates under the provisions of Decree Law No. 233 and is headquartered in Istanbul. The main purpose of the organization is to assist in the safety of Turkish and foreign-flagged ships navigating in our seas and territorial waters, provide coastal safety and ship rescue services, pilotage and towing services, and establish, operate, and maintain related devices and facilities. Its activities are carried out in seven main areas, including maritime rescue, salvage, vessel traffic services in the Turkish Straits, lighthouses, maritime communication, pilotage services, and towing services. The organization is responsible for establishing and operating safety systems and facilities related to navigation on Turkish coasts, as well as providing rescue services in designated areas. It also operates the vessel traffic services system in the Turkish Straits, provides maritime communication services, and invests in various systems to enhance navigation safety. The organization generates significant resources for the public through tax, fund, and dividend obligations.
