In October 1997 Aiptek International Inc. was founded, focusing on the research and production of electromagnetic induction pen-based input system and Internet-based video conferencing systems. In November 1998 it was admitted to the Hsinchu Science Park. In November 2000 it obtained the German TUV certification and ISO-9001 quality certification. In May 2001 it was allowed for public offering of stock. In January 2003, it went listed in OTC market. The company invested AIPTEKUSAINC in November 1997, Guanghan Technology Co., Ltd. in March 1998, and AIPTEKInternationalGmbH in August 1999.
