The principal activity of the Company is that of a closed-ended investment company. The objective of the Company is to achieve capital appreciation through investments in a diversified portfolio of private mid-market UK and European businesses.
History
2002
Peter founded Oakley Capital in 2002 to be a best of breed, entrepreneurially driven UK investment house. He wanted to create an ecosystem that supports companies through investment, whether they are early stage (through the venture capital businesses) or more established companies (through the Oakley Capital Funds).
2007
The Company was incorporated in Bermuda on 28 June 2007. The Company listed on the London Stock Exchange, AIM market on 3 August 2007.
The Company achieves its investment objective primarily through an investment in Oakley Capital Private Equity L.P. (the “Limited Partnership”), an exempted limited partnership established in Bermuda on 10 July 2007. The manager is Oakley Capital (Bermuda) Limited (the “Manager”) and the investment adviser is Oakley Capital Limited (the “Investment Adviser”). The Company and the general partner of the Limited Partnership have at least one Director in common.
