In 2015, the GVA of real estate activities came to PLN 84.106bn, up 5.1% y/y. The sector represented 4.7% of GDP in that year. Real estate and the closely related construction sector together generated over 12% of GDP. Just over 200,000 people were employed in real estate activities and more than 800,000 others in construction. The value of real estate transactions in 2015 came to EUR 4.12bn, an increase of over 31% y/y. In 2015, supply on each of the three real estate markets – retail, office and industrial – was at a record-high, or almost record-high, level. Take-up was at its all-time highest in 2015 on the Polish industrial and Warsaw office markets. The construction pipeline is impressive and the years 2016-2017 – and perhaps even 2018 – could see a record amount of space delivered on the office and industrial markets.
