Maynilad Water Services Inc is the private water and wastewater services provider for the West Zone of Metro Manila and parts of Cavite province, operating under a concession agreement with the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System. Established in 1997 following the privatization of Metro Manila's water services and restructured under new ownership from 2007, Maynilad is responsible for the extraction, treatment, distribution, and sale of potable water, as well as for the collection, treatment, and disposal of wastewater and sewerage in its service area. The company serves millions of customers across cities and municipalities including western and certain parts of Manila, Caloocan, Pasay, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Valenzuela, Malabon, Navotas, and portions of Quezon City and Makati, as well as key cities and towns in Cavite. Maynilad operates water treatment plants, pumping stations, reservoirs, transmission lines, and an extensive distribution pipeline network, along with wastewater treatment facilities and sewerage networks that are being progressively expanded. The company is jointly owned by Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, DMCI Holdings, and Marubeni, and is pursuing significant capital expenditure programs, including network rehabilitation, expansion to unserved and underserved communities, non-revenue water reduction, and wastewater infrastructure development.
