Sandoz SRL (Romania)

The company was founded in 1996, under the name PharmaTech, having its headquarters in Targu Mures. Lek PharmaTech was the first Romanian producer of pediatric suspensions. Since January 2001, the international pharmaceutical company Lek Pharmaceuticals d.d., based in Ljubljana, Slovenia acquired Pharmatech and formed Lek PharmaTech. In 2002 Lek d.d merger with Novartis, Lek PharmaTech company became part of Novartis group and in the same year penicillines factory was upgraded to GMP standards. In 2003 in the framework of Novartis Generics, several national brands formed one strong brand - Sandoz. In 2006, with the purpose to consolidate local integrations on Romanian market of PharmaTech, Lek, Biochemie, Hexal was decided to bring back Sandoz in Romania. On February 28, 2006 Lek Pharmatech S.R.L. changed its name to Sandoz SRL
